Albert Bartlett receives largest ever Food Processing, Marketing and Co-operation grant for potato processing diversification
The largest ever Food Processing, Marketing and Co-operation (FPMC) grant of £4 million has been awarded to potato processing firm Albert Bartlett. It will allow the company to diversify into the growing convenience and chilled potato market.

Potato Milk: Swedish scientist makes dairy substitute from potatoes
A smoothie based on 'potato milk' is expected to be commercially available next year. The product is made using a patented process using an emulsion of potato and omega-3 oils as a dairy replacement developed at Lund University by Eva Tornberg.

Chernihiv (Ukraine) is becoming the largest potato starch production hub in Eastern Europe including Russia
Ukrainian potato starch manufacturer PPCE-VIMAL is currently constructing a potato processing plant in Chernihiv, Ukraine. Production is scheduled to start in September 2018.

New Brunswick potato farmer produces its first batch of Blue Roof vodka
The Strang family of potato farmers in New Brunswick, Canada are getting into the liquor business by making vodka from potatoes. The first batch of Blue Roof vodka will be available in the farm’s storefront this week and in NB liquor stores sometime in the next week.
