Pentland Javelin is a first early potato variety known for high yields but with a tendency to bulk late. It has a short-oval tuber shape with smooth, cream-colored skin and flesh. This variety is resistant to Potato Virus Y (Yo), potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis Ro1), and has good resistance to splitting and bruising. It is moderately susceptible to tuber blight and spraing. Pentland Javelin has a medium to low dry matter content with a firm, good boiling quality.
