Variety Description

Jizhangshu is a Chinese potato variety developed for strong adaptability, with good yield potential and moderate resistance to common potato diseases. 

Tuber Characteristics:

  • Skin: Yellow or light brown
  • Flesh: White to cream-colored
  • Shape: Oval to long-oval
  • Texture: Firm, good for boiling and frying
  • Storage: Good shelf life under proper conditions

Resistances:

  • Moderate resistance to late blight (Phytophthora infestans)
  • Good resistance to common scab
  • Moderate resistance to viral infections (PVY, PVX)
  • Adapted to drought-prone regions and mid-altitude farming systems
