Today, VION N.V. announces that the sale of Oerlemans Foods to Baltussen Holding B.V. has been cancelled. No agreement was reached concerning the definitive conditions and price for Oerlemans Foods.
VION announced the intended sale on 11 January 2013 because Oerlemans Foods no longer constitutes part of the company's core activities.
For the time being, Oerlemans Foods will retain its healthy, independent market position within the VION Food Group.
Thanks to its strategic initiatives, Oerlemans Foods has managed to develop itself even further. This has led to a substantial improvement in financial performance. In 2013, Oerlemans Foods observes positive developments in the markets they are active in. With a focus on tailor-made solutions for and in collaboration with clients Oerlemans Foods' near future looks very positive.
Oerlemans Foods is a specialised manufacturer and supplier of fresh frozen vegetables, fruit and potato products. With a range of over 1,000 products and the brands Oerlemans, Keizer, Bio+ and Bauer, Oerlemans Foods focuses on the international foodservice, retail and industrial markets. The head office is located in Venlo NL and the company has production plants in the Netherlands and Poland. Oerlemans Foods employs 740 staff.
