In the United Kingdom, McCain Foods is launching new limited edition Caribbean Wedges in a bid to capitalise on strong consumer demand for Caribbean flavours.
The range extension continues the McCain strategy of introducing new ‘world’ flavours to provide greater variety.
Following the addition of British and Mexican Wedges over the last two years, the new flavour hopes to drive strong growth within the category.
The launch is part of the McCain Foods sharing strategy which is driving category growth by creating new eating occasions for wedges through associations with social eating occasions such as movie nights and barbecues.
To support the introduction of McCain Caribbean Wedges and cement the association with sharing, the new variety will be featured as part of McCain Foods Film4 9pm movie sponsorship.
Timed to coincide with the start of British Summer Time, Mark Hodge, McCain Foods head of brand, said: “Caribbean is one of the fastest growing food trends at present and with summer just around the corner the new variety is ideally placed to capitalise on the demand for Caribbean flavours, and the forthcoming BBQ season.
