Mister Bee Potato Chip Co. is the target of a lawsuit filed by another popular snack food manufacturer, claiming the company owes more than $600,000 for shipped goods.
Utz Quality Foods, based in Hanover, Pa., filed the lawsuit Nov. 9 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia against local company Mister Bee Potato Chip, alleging it owes $677,623 for Utz products.
According to the complaint, in November 2007, the two companies entered into an agreement in which Mister Bee Potato Chip agreed to distribute Utz products in West Virginia and Ohio.
Mister Bee agreed to pay for Utz products delivered for distribution, but the company failed to do so, the suit states.
