Maybe the owners of the Idaho Fry Co. should have done a little more research before picking a name for their startup restaurant in Boise.
On the other hand, their alleged violation of the Idaho potato trademark hasn't exactly hurt business.
Traffic picked up immediately after a Boise television station aired a recent report about the Idaho Potato Commission's attempts to get the local eatery to change its name.
"The day after (the story) broke, it was crazy,"restaurant co-owner Blake Lingle said. "It was probably the busiest day we've ever had."
The new restaurant features fresh-cut fries and burgers. It sells fries made from Idaho Russet potatoes, but not exclusively. The menu also includes fries made from yams, sweet potatoes and white potatoes from California.
