Quest Nutrition is a snack food company focused on the manufacturing and marketing of high-protein snacks - including potato chips and tortilla chips - to consumers focused on health and fitness.
The company is specialized in high-protein, low-sugar snacks such as protein bars, powders, chips, cookies and smoothies. Tom Bilyeu, Mike Osborn, and Ron Penna founded the company in El Segundo, California, in 2010 with the goal of creating healthy goods free of added sugar for health-conscious consumers.
In its early years, Quest Nutrition saw remarkable growth, becoming the second fastest-growing private company in the U.S. in 2014 with nearly 57,000% revenue growth over three years. This growth was mostly driven by influencer marketing methods that used social media platforms to attract fitness enthusiasts.
In August 2019, Quest Nutrition was acquired by The Simply Good Foods Company, parent company of Atkins Nutritionals, for $1 billion all-cash.
