Potatoes are getting cheaper in Moldova, due to import from the Ukraine
Since last week, the level of wholesale prices for potatoes began to decline on the Moldovan market; the product fell in price by an average of 14% to 6 LEI0/kg (USD 0.33/kg).

Potato production drops off in Moldova
Sources say that in Moldova, growing potatoes has become completely unprofitable. Sown areas today have decreased by a quarter compared to 2018, and due to the lack of rainfall, growers have to spend extra on irrigation systems.
