FAO Food Price Index rebounds in May
The FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) averaged 172.6 points in May 2017, up 3.7 points (2.2 percent) from April and nearly 16 points (10 percent) higher than its May 2016 level. The rebound in the value of the Index followed three months of consecutive declines.

In the past (10-15 years ago) french fries were a major source of trans fats, but now most companies have switched to healthier oils. Nowadays, bakery products are the main source of trans fat in the Canadian diet.

Potatoes USA International Marketing Committee reports on growing export opportunities
The Potatoes USA international marketing committee met prior to the Annual Meeting in Denver March 15 & 16. The committee heard how U.S. potato exports have grown 183% in the past 20 years and now account for close to 20% of production.
