Variety Description

Nieta Potato Variety is an early maincrop variety ideal for French fry production in Mediterranean and North African climates, producing high yields of large tubers. It has good cooking qualities, showing no enzymic browning or discoloration after cooking, and is resistant to splitting. The variety is susceptible to PCN Pa 2/3,1 and slightly susceptible to Ro1. Bred by the Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland, with Desiree × Maris Piper parentage.
