Open House AAFC Accelerated Release Program - 2018 Potato Selections for French Fries, Chips and the Fresh Market

Each year, Agriculture and Agri-food Canada presents its new potato selections in the Accelerated Release Program and solicits commercial partners to license (phase one) or bid (phase two) for any of these potato selections.

Using a combination of traditional crop breeding techniques, as well as new and emerging technologies, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) releases to the marketplace up to 10-15 new potato selections annually.

These annual releases have been carefully chosen from a starting population that may number 120,000 new seedlings.

This event is held on the same day in three different locations:
