Diamond Foods, Inc. announced the launch of a website dedicated to providing information on living a healthy and active lifestyle, www.diamondsnackbetter.com. The site serves as a hub for information on the "better-for-you"snacks in the Diamond portfolio, facts about living a healthy lifestyle, and links to prepare and train for events like those sponsored by Diamond Foods. The website will be supported by an awareness-driving digital campaign.
"We were interested in creating one engaging stop for consumers to learn about the wide range of better-for-you snacks that we offer and how they could incorporate these snacks into an active lifestyle,"said Craig Tokusato, Vice President of Marketing for Diamond Foods. "With the dedicated website, we are able to show that living a healthy life and eating great-tasting snacks are not mutually exclusive. Our site features an innovative, refreshing design that provides users with an easy-to-navigate, single destination for useful and engaging information."
Each of the brands under the Diamond umbrella includes a wide range of great tasting, "better-for-you"snack options. Kettle Brand(R) Potato Chips offers a unique baked potato chip made from real sliced potatoes and all natural ingredients that has 65% less fat than regular potato chips. Emerald(R) snack nuts offers a wide variety of 100 calorie offerings and a line of sweet roasted nuts without any added calories. Finally, Pop Secret(R) offers 94% Fat Free Butter microwave popcorn and is also introducing Magic Colors Light Butter microwave popcorn this month.
In addition to healthier snack options, Diamond sponsors events that support people seeking an active lifestyle. Diamond is a sponsor of both the Honda Los Angeles Marathon and ING New York City Marathon, and the Across the Bay 12K and Emerald Nuts New Year's Eve Midnight Run in New York City, which this year drew a record number of runners and spectators. Diamond's "better-for-you"snack portfolio is on trend and contributes to the Company's growth rate. Kettle, Pop Secret and Emerald's premium tree nut items again outpaced their categories in terms of growth rates in the most recent AC Nielsen 12 week reporting period.
