In Nederland, België, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Luxemburg is dit jaar 73.500 hectare pootaardappelen geteeld, waarvan ruim de helft in Nederland.
Er is 2 procent meer pootgoed geteeld in de vijf landen, heeft het Belgische aardappelinstituut PCA berekend.
Volgens het PCA groeit het areaal pootaardappelen in Nederland en België sinds 2008. "In Frankrijk stijgt het areaal al vijf opeenvolgende seizoenen. In Duitsland en Luxemburg is in 2010 iets minder pootgoed geteeld. In Nederland bedroeg de toename 700 hectare. In Frankrijk groeide het areaal 900 hectare. Duitsland kende een lichte daling met 700 hectare. In België is zo’n 130 hectare meer geteeld dan in 2009."
