Descripción de la compañía

VegNET is a nationwide extension program for Australia's vegetable and onion sectors, managed by AUSVEG and funded by Hort Innovation through industry levies and Australian government contributions.

The program is currently in its third phase (VegNET 3.0), running from 2021 to 2026, with the goal of increasing production, profitability, and sustainability for growers in key horticultural regions.

The concept uses Regional Development Officers (RDOs) entrenched in local grower networks to provide targeted, region-specific assistance.  These officials promote the implementation of best practices in pest and disease management, soil health, biosecurity, and business development.

VegNET also incorporates onion farmers into its structure, forming regional organizations to tackle specific issues like herbicide-resistant ryegrass and white rot disease.
