Company Description

McCain Foods Canada - Carberry is one of the French Fry production plants of McCain Foods (Canada), located in Manitoba.

McCain acquired the Carberry processing plant on October 31, 2004 from Midwest Food Products Inc., a subsidiary of Nestlé Canada Inc. for an undisclosed purchase price.

The Carberry potato processing plant processes about 430 million pounds of Manitoba-grown potatoes every year, mostly into french fries.

The Carberry plant employs about 220 people (January 2016), with a commitment to add another 10 positions to be created over the next three years as a result of recent government supported investments.

Frost ends Manitoba potato harvest
Frost last week ended Manitoba’s potato harvest, leaving thousands of acres undug.
It’s the second year wet soils prevented potato farmers from getting all the crop off before heavy frost ruined it.
The McCain Foundation committed $50,000 towards the funding of a new interactive water fountain for families to enjoy at a park in the Portage la Prairie community.

McCain Foods Commits $75 Million to Manitoba Production Facilities
McCain Foods (Canada) announced infrastructure
investments totaling $75 million for its Portage la Prairie and Carberry, Manitoba facilities. The
investments further strengthen the company’s potato processing presence in Western Canada.
