Potato starch manufacturer Avebe reports that due to better weather conditions in the first half of October the potato harvest is well underway. Many storage barns have been filled over this period.
It is estimated that currently just 5% of the potatoes remains to be harvested.
Less favorable circumstances are the high tare rate of 8%, while the underwater weight has stabilised at around 470 grams. Overall, potato quality is good, apart from some small amounts of rot.
